Taxonomy
Pentagonoceras guizhouense was named by Zhao et al. (1978). Its type specimen is NIGP 14939 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lijiachong, Lindai, Bed 2, Qingzhen County, which is in a Changhsingian marine limestone in the Changxing Formation of China.
