Icacinoxylon was named by Shilkina (1956). It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type is Icacinoxylon citronelloides. It was considered unknown by Jud (2011).

It was assigned to Icacinaceae by Andrews (1970); and to Magnoliopsida by Jud (2011).
