Icacinoxylon pittiense was named by Thayne et al. (1985). It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type locality is Ferron - Part IV, which is in a Cenomanian fluvial-lacustrine sandstone/shale in the Cedar Mountain Formation of Utah.
