Taxonomy
Tainoceras gibbosum was named by Zheng (1984). Its type specimen is NIGP 34367 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zhongying Section Bed 23 (QZ-5), Qinglong County, which is in a Changhsingian coastal marl in China.
