Taxonomy
Mongoloxya ponomarenkoi was named by Gorochov (1992). Its type specimen is PIN 3559/8371, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Bon Tsagaan (PIN collection 3559), which is in an Aptian lacustrine siliciclastic in the Dzun-Bain Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Mongoloxya.
