Lithomantis woodwardi
Taxonomy
Lithomantis woodwardi was named by Brongniart (1890). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R51048, an exoskeleton (fore and hind wings, prothoracic lobes, fragment of fore leg), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Commentry (MNHN Brongniart coll), which is in a Gzhelian lacustrine deltaic shale in the Commentry Shales Formation of France. It is the type species of Homoioptera.
It was recombined as Homoioptera woodwardi by Brongniart (1894), Handlirsch (1906), Lameere (1917), Handlirsch (1919), Handlirsch (1922) and Kukalová (1969).
