Stigmodera hyperboreus
Taxonomy
Carabites hyperboreus was named by Heer (1870). Its type specimen is Nat. Riks. Ar. 34, an elytra, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Cap Staratschin, which is in a Danian/Selandian delta plain shale in the Firkanten Formation of Svalbard and Jan Mayen.
It was recombined as Stigmodera hyperboreus by Birket-Smith (1977) and Bellamy (2008).
