Harpalus nitens
Taxonomy
Carabites nitens was named by Heer (1870). Its type specimen is Nat. Riks. Ar.35, an elytra (apical part), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Cap Staratschin, which is in a Danian/Selandian delta plain shale in the Firkanten Formation of Svalbard and Jan Mayen.
It was recombined as Harpalus nitens by Birket-Smith (1977).
