Ctenognathichthys bellottii
Taxonomy
Heterolepidotus bellottii was named by de Alessandri (1910) [Neotype designation (PIMUZ T.4349) invalid]. Its type specimen is PIMUZ T.4349, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Perledo (Museo Civico di Como), which is in a Longobardian marine limestone in the Perledo-Varenna Formation of Italy.
It was recombined as Ctenognathichthys bellottii by Bürgin (1992), Tintori (1998), Cartanyà (1999), Bürgin and Herzog (2002) and López-Arbarello et al. (2014).
