Taxonomy
Jawonya tiro was named by Kruse (1987). It is not extant. Its type locality is Mount Scott Range, Tor Herm (section N), archaeocyath-sponge mound, which is in an Atdabanian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Ajax Limestone Formation of Australia.
