Taxonomy
Plioprion minor was named by Falconer (1857). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mammal Bed, Durlston Bay (DB83), which is in a Berriasian marine horizon in the Lulworth Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Bolodon minor by Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004).
