Taxonomy
Bakharia gibbera was named by Popov (1988). Its type specimen is PIN 3791/2481, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Bakhar, outcrop 208/4 (PIN collection 3791), which is in a Bajocian/Bathonian lacustrine claystone in the Bakhar Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Bakharia.
