Megathon zwicki

Taxonomy
Megathon zwicki was named by Lukashevich and Shcherbakov (1997). Its type specimen is PIN 3901/326, an exoskeleton (female fly), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Obeshchayushchiy (PIN collection 3901), which is in a Campanian lacustrine - small mudstone in the Ola Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Megathon.
