Taxonomy
Archisphex crowsoni was named by Evans (1969). Its type specimen is MCZ 6312, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Quarry Hill Pit, Tunbridge, which is in a Valanginian marginal marine sandstone in the Wadhurst Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
