Taxonomy
Serphites hynemani was named by McKellar and Engel (2011). Its type specimen is TMP 96.9.183, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Grassy Lake, Medicine Hat (TMP 96.9 accession), which is in a Campanian terrestrial amber in the Foremost Formation of Canada.
