Taxonomy
Prodocidia spectra was named by Whalley (1985). Its type specimen is BMNH In 49226, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Flatstones, Stonebarrow, Charmouth (Jackson collection), which is in an Obtusum marine mudstone in the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Eoptychoptera spectra by Lukashevich (2000) and Lukashevich et al. (2001).
