Taxonomy
Lestes foersteri was named by Hess (1895). Its type specimen is Theobald Coll., a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Brunstatt, Mulhouse (Strassburg collection), which is in an Oligocene lacustrine - large marl in France.
It was corrected as Lestes forsterii by Nel and Paicheler (1994).
