Taxonomy
Glaphyroptera longipes was named by Förster (1891). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Brunstatt, horizon d4, which is in an Oligocene lacustrine - large marl in France.

It was recombined as Leia longipes by Theobald (1937) and Oliveira and Amorim (2021).
