Bollandia was named by Reed (1943) [Sepkoski's age data: C Tour-u C Vise-u]. It is not extant.

It was reranked as Griffithides (Bollandia) by Hahn et al. (1981).

It was assigned to Griffithides by Hahn et al. (1981); to Proetidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); to Proetida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Bollandiinae by Hahn et al. (1996) and Hahn et al. (2003).
