Taxonomy
Polytaxineura stanleyi was named by Tillyard (1935). Its type specimen is BMNH In 46395, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Warner's Bay, Belmont (Stanley 1935 coll), which is in a Changhsingian pond chert in the Croudace Bay Formation of Australia.
