Constantina was named by Cisne (1970) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fame-u Sepkoski's reference number: 387].

It was assigned to Tropidocoryphidae by Owens (1994); to Proetida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Proetidae by Cisne (1970) and Jell and Adrain (2002).
