Astacus rostratus was named by Phillips (1829). It is not extant.
It was synonymized subjectively with Glyphea muensteri by von Meyer (1840); it was recombined as Glyphea rostrata by Étallon (1859); it was recombined as Trachysoma rostrata by Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Feldmann et al. (2015).
