Dalejeproetus was named by Snajdr (1977) [Sepkoski's age data: D Gedi D Emsi-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1106]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Proetida by Sepkoski (2002); to Tropidocoryphidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Cornuproetinae by Johnson and Fortey (2012) and Bault et al. (2021).
