Taxonomy
Permosialis belmontensis was named by Riek (1968). Its type specimen is AM F40700, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Warner's Bay, Belmont (AMF coll), which is in a Changhsingian pond chert in the Croudace Bay Formation of Australia.
