Taxonomy
Eubleptus maculosus was named by Carpenter (1992). It is an impression. Its type locality is Pit 11, Braidwood, Mazon Creek (Madsen coll), which is in a Westphalian D deltaic mudstone in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois.
