Taxonomy
Lycodus garretti was named by Carpenter (1992). Its type specimen is KUMIP 224077, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Lone Star Lake spillway, which is in a Kasimovian estuary/bay siliciclastic in the Lawrence Shale Formation of Kansas. It is the type species of Lycodus.
