Taxonomy
Hasala inferiorsaxonica was named by Brauckmann (1995). Its type specimen is Coll M. Droege/ D-32756 Detmold., a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Piesberg quarry, "Flöz Zweibänke" (Droege coll), which is in a Westphalian C/Westphalian D lacustrine deltaic claystone in the Flöz Zweibänke Formation of Germany.
