Cartorhium latum
Taxonomy
Spirifer (Neospirifer) latus was named by King (1931). Its type specimen is YPM 12504, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is R.E. King 123, Leonard Mountain, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian carbonate limestone in the Cathedral Mountain Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Spirifer mexicanus latus by King (1931); it was recombined as Cartorhium latum by Cooper and Grant (1976) and Cooper and Grant (1976).
