Archimylacris paucinervis was named by Scudder (1890). It is an impression. Its type locality is Morris, Mazon Creek (J.C. Carr coll), which is in a Westphalian D interdistributary bay mudstone in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois.
It was recombined as Palaeoblatta paucinervis by Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1920) and Handlirsch (1922).
