Taxonomy
Tetanocera variciliata was named by Theobald (1937). Its type specimen is Coll Fliche F 244, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Céreste (Nancy coll), which is in a Chattian lacustrine carbonate in France.
