Ororaphidia was named by Engel and Ren (2008). It is the type genus of Ororaphidiinae.
It was assigned to Raphidioptera by Engel and Ren (2008); to Ororaphidiinae by Bechly and Wolf-Schwenninger (2011) and Lu et al. (2015); and to Mesoraphidiinae by Lyu et al. (2017).
