Kolymoproetus was named by Maksimova (1978) [Sepkoski's age data: D Sieg Sepkoski's reference number: 1106]. It is not extant. Its type is Kolymoproetus multisegmentatus.
It was assigned to Proetinae by Chlupac (1994); to Proetida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Proetidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
