Lasarchopyge was named by Chatterton et al. (1998) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llvi O Cara-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Lasarchopyge benedettoi.
It was assigned to Toernquistiidae by Chatterton et al. (1998); to Proetida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Scharyiidae by Jell and Adrain (2002), Adrain and Westrop (2007) and Owens and Fortey (2009).
