Taxonomy
Shalbaatar bakht was named by Nessov (1997). Its type specimen is N C.82622, a mandible (edentulous dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CDZh-17a, Dzharakuduk II, Kulbeke, which is in a Turonian/Turonian terrestrial horizon in the Bissekty Formation of Uzbekistan.
