Taxonomy
Myoproetus was named by Snajdr (1976) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi-u D Eife Sepkoski's reference number: 933,1106]. It is not extant. Its type is Proetus myops.

It was assigned to Proetinae by Feist and Petersen (1995); to Proetidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Proetida by Sepkoski (2002).
