Iasvia was named by Zalessky (1934).

It was corrected as Jasvia by Carpenter (1992); it was misspelled as Jasvia by Gorochov (1995) and Béthoux et al. (2002).

It was assigned to Oedischiinae by Gorochov (1995); and to Oedischiidae by Zalessky (1934), Sharov (1968), Carpenter (1992) and Béthoux et al. (2002).
