Taxonomy
Gulou was named by Béthoux et al. (2011). It is not extant. Its type is Gulou carpenteri. It is the type genus of Gulouidae.
It was assigned to Emphylopteridae by Aristov (2014); and to Gulouidae by Béthoux et al. (2011) and Schubnel et al. (2019).
