Taxonomy
Canalilatus major was named by Holmer et al. (2001). It is not extant. Its type locality is Kyrshabakty River, 1465-20, which is in a Zhanaarykian basinal (carbonate) lime mudstone in the Aktas Formation of Kazakhstan.
