Taxonomy
Wolayella was named by Erben (1966) [Sepkoski's age data: D Gedi-u D Emsi-l Sepkoski's reference number: 421,1106]. It is not extant. Its type is Wolayella wolayae.

It was assigned to Tropidocoryphidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); to Proetida by Sepkoski (2002); to Tropidocoryphinae by Owens et al. (2010); and to Cornuproetinae by Bault et al. (2021).
