Taxonomy
Parallelodon desioi was named by Fantini Sestini (1965). Its type specimen is MPUM P1780, a valve (left valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Abgarch Valley 62PG-30, which is in a Sakmarian marine horizon in the Lupghar Formation of Pakistan.
