Taxonomy
Carmelopodus untermannorum was named by Lockley et al. (1998). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is CU-MWC 184.12, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Chew Road tracksites (DNM), which is in a Bajocian marginal marine sandstone/limestone in the Carmel Formation of Utah.
