Colpocoryphe was named by Novak and Perner (1918) [Sepkoski's age data: O Aren-l O Cara-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Calymenidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Colpocoryphinae by Thomas (1977), Dean (1983) and Congreve and Lieberman (2008).
