Pivus sarus
Taxonomy
Pivus sarus was named by Blagoderov et al. (1993). Its type specimen is PIN 3064/9740, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Baissa (PIN collection 3064), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large marl in the Zaza Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Pivus.
