Taxonomy
Blattina reticulata was named by Germar (1851). It is an impression. Its type locality is Wettin, which is in a Stephanian C terrestrial shale in the Ottweiler Stufe Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Oryctoblattina reticulata by Scudder (1879); it was recombined as Blattinopsis reticulata by Giebel (1867), Handlirsch (1906), von Schlechtendal (1913), Handlirsch (1922), Haupt (1941) and Hörnschemeyer and Stapf (2001).
