Digonus was named by Guerich (1909) [Sepkoski's age data: D Gedi-l D Emsi-u Sepkoski's reference number: 902,1106]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Homalonotinae by Thomas (1977); to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Homalonotidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
