Duftonia was named by Dean (1959) [Sepkoski's age data: O Ashg-l O Ashg-m Sepkoski's reference number: 378]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Dalmanitidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002).
