Archisphex catalunicus
Taxonomy
Cretosphex catalunicus was named by Ansorge (1993). Its type specimen is FGG 101 (MA 29 1/2), a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is La Cabrua outcrop, Sierra del Montsec (Ansorge FGWG coll), which is in a Barremian lacustrine - large lime mudstone in the la Pedrera de Rubies Formation of Spain.
It was recombined as Archisphex catalunicus by Rasnitsyn and Martínez-Delclòs (2000).
