Eocercopis ovalis
Taxonomy
Cercopinus ovalis was named by Handlirsch (1939). Its type specimen is NMW 1984/33/5, a tegmen (right tegmen), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Dobbertin, Mecklenburg (NHMW collection), which is in a Toarcian offshore claystone in Germany.
It was recombined as Eocercopis ovalis by Popov and Shcherbakov (1991) and Dong et al. (2014).
