Taxonomy
Archisphex curvus was named by Rasnitsyn and Jarzembowski (1998). Its type specimen is BMB 018504, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Auclaye Brickworks (BMB collection), which is in a Barremian lagoonal claystone in the Weald Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
