Malladaia was named by Oehlert (1896) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi-l D Emsi-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1106]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Dalmanitidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002).
